Lock the structure first
Artwork should begin only after the product dimensions, board, closure and dieline are confirmed. Changing the structure later can move panels, folds, glue areas and safe zones.
Pre-flight the artwork
- Use the approved dieline at the correct scale.
- Keep critical text and logos inside the safe area.
- Extend backgrounds and images through the bleed.
- Use print-ready CMYK images at suitable resolution.
- Outline or package fonts and linked assets.
- Separate foil, spot UV, white ink or embossing into clearly named spot-colour layers.
Check regulated and variable information
- Product name, quantity and variant
- MRP, batch, date and statutory declarations
- Barcode size, quiet zone and scan test
- Manufacturer, marketer and customer-care details
- Spelling, punctuation and contact details on every panel
Approve a mock-up and final proof
A plain or digitally printed mock-up helps confirm panel order, orientation, opening direction and product fit. The final production proof should then be signed off by the person responsible for both brand and legal copy.
Production should start from one clearly identified approved file, not from multiple email attachments with similar names.
