Start with the surface
A label for a smooth carton is different from one for a curved bottle, frozen pack, oily surface or outdoor sign. Share the actual application surface and storage conditions before choosing material and adhesive.
Common material directions
- Chromo paper for economical indoor product and carton labels.
- BOPP for moisture resistance and a clean product-label finish.
- Transparent film when the pack or product should show through.
- Metallised stock for a reflective premium appearance.
- Vinyl for durable graphics, contour cuts and outdoor applications.
Confirm application and finishing
Labels applied by machine need the correct roll direction, core and gap. Hand-applied labels can be supplied on sheets or rolls. Lamination, varnish and ink choice should match abrasion, moisture and handling.
